Fashion illustration Sketchbook UpdatePage 6

New Sketchbook pages!

Page 5

Clicking through links on Chictopia i sketched the faces i saw. A nice fun warm up today to practice different face shapes.

Page 6

Trying different sketch styles to see which would work best to do caricatures with. What do you think? have you got a favourite? So far i quite like the most imaginative one on the left! Might be hard for people to recognise themselves though!
I hope to start doing caricatures at events so i'm practising a lot to be ready!

Fashion illustration : Avery by Wang's Shirt Dress

Original fashion illustration for Avery by Wang.

I recently teamed up with Avery by Wang to do a series of illustrations depicting various ways of styling their wonderful shirtdress. Here is the first final illustration! This was the first illustration I finished for the series and it set the tone for the rest of the designs.

To give you an idea of how the process works when I create my fashion illustrations, below is the initial sketch that I showed Annching the founder and designer of the fashion collection.

Also a lot of the time you guys just get to see the final piece, but I know I always love to see peoples sketch books so over the next week or so i'll be going through my process of how I created these illustrations.

I hope it inspires some other budding fashion artists to pick up the paintbrush!

Black Bee Smith

Another one of Bee Smiths collection.
I can't help myself, the looks are timeless and I can't help but want to try and capture the feeling. Flashing camera blubs, headlights, the dazzling lights of the theatre!
Fabulous!

I believe in fairies!

Here is one of my latest portraits of the very lovely Lisa and Stella.
It was a utter joy to create this as I got to indulge in my love of whimsy and fairies. It was an extra special treat as well as i got to meet them both before i created the portrait, they really have a great mother/daughter bond!

Let me know what you think as i'll be creating templates similar to this style to use for future portraits!
If anyone's interested in getting one done, let me know! This one was commissioned by Lisa's parents as a Easter gift!

Heohwan's Full Fashion Illustrations

Here are the full images!
I'm sorry for the delay with posting these up, I've really enjoyed creating these images and I like the style I've developed to create them. Sometimes the best part about drawing different designers clothes is how it makes your art style adapt to suit their vision.

Prim and propah portrait

I recently created a fashion portrait for the lovely Amanda Davis for her fashion blog Prim and Propah
I'm wondering...Are other fashion bloggers interested in these types of portraits for blogs? Would you use one?

I will be creating one for myself soon but it's good to know what others think of them.

The Tragic Sense

Check out her blog for more cute outfits. :)
I'm still experimenting with styles so let me know what you think. I kind of like the photo and illustration combination but i miss the spontaneous flourishes of using watercolour and ink. Hmm.

Fashion Portfolio Site

Hi,

I will be posting all my fashion illustrations here on this blog and then transferring them at a later date to my Fashion Illustration Portfolio on Tumblr! So if anyone has a tumblr account and wants to follow the action, my address is http://happycreativity.tumblr.com/

Pretty straight forward!

I think this will help people to find old images of mine they like and to see all my artworks at once.

I am a freelance illustrator but i don't want my blog to be all about my artworks which is why i think this is the best way forward as i update my blog more and more with other content. :)

Take care lovelies,

Laura
