Fashion illustration Sketchbook UpdatePage 6

New Sketchbook pages!

Clicking through links on Chictopia i sketched the faces i saw. A nice fun warm up today to practice different face shapes.

Trying different sketch styles to see which would work best to do caricatures with. What do you think? have you got a favourite? So far i quite like the most imaginative one on the left! Might be hard for people to recognise themselves though!
I hope to start doing caricatures at events so i'm practising a lot to be ready!

I believe in fairies!

Here is one of my latest portraits of the very lovely Lisa and Stella.
It was a utter joy to create this as I got to indulge in my love of whimsy and fairies. It was an extra special treat as well as i got to meet them both before i created the portrait, they really have a great mother/daughter bond!

Let me know what you think as i'll be creating templates similar to this style to use for future portraits!
If anyone's interested in getting one done, let me know! This one was commissioned by Lisa's parents as a Easter gift!

7 Dec Fashion Outfit illustration

My new years resolution is to become better at doing one of these a day. there's no way i'll be able to catch up with all the missed ones so i'll just have to try harder. Those who succeed are the ones that when they fall down they always get back up! :)

Outfit Illustrations

I am a massive fan of fashion illustration and it has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years as more and more young artists are finding how fun it is! I have followed a few fashion illustrators for a while and love their daily outfit illustrations: the perfect way to practice drawing and create beautiful images to share. Nancy. Z is my fashion illustrator obsession at the moment - check out her wonderful drawings here http://www.xiaoxizhang.com/

Now...i love clothes. My problem is i have very limited funds and cannot sew, nor do i really want to learn ( Okay, i have the odd moment where i think its a fantastic idea, but then i remember all the other things i need to learn and it goes back to number 7 on the list - sorry sewing! ). So..instead of drawing MY daily outfits, i will be using this site instead! Chictopia !

It's perfect for what i would like to do, there's a vast range of different styles, looks and girls! Yesterday i drew two love and very different outfits.

I found it works as a great warm up exercise before i start the portraits!

On a side note: I've been updating my etsy shop again! Prints are available for the raspberry truffle cake thats pictured at the top of this post!
